Carol was born in Springfield, MA. She was the daughter of Robert and Joyce Frizzell. Her family lived in East Boston, Everett, and Arlington, before settling in Burlington in 1962. Carol would finish her last 3 years of high school at Burlington High School as a member of the Class of 1965. After high school she worked for Raytheon in Waltham. She met her future husband, William Kane, while out with her girlfriend at the OD’s Night Club in Cambridge. They married on June 23, 1972, and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She loved her role of homemaker, wife, and mother. She ran the home, managed 4 very active kids schedules, and always place their needs before her own. Since the 1970’s, she has endured countless health issues from beating cancer twice, Hodgkins Disease, 2 heart attacks, Multiple Sclerosis, and recently covid. Any of those could have ended her life years ago, but she had this silent strength that willed her to endure and over come those challenges for her family’s sake. Carol’s greatest gift was her family. She was a loving and supportive daughter to her parents assisting and caring for them in their later years. She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband Bill for 50 years. They raised their family together, celebrated each other’s achievements, and cared for one another in their times of need. She was the quintessential mother to her four children. She was a wonderful role model, was there to support them as children, adolescents, and as adults and loved each one for them for their special gifts and talents. There were many memorable vacations in Maine. Camping on Hermit Island, The cottages at Head Beach, and Cape Cod. There were numerous road trips in their conversion van to North Carolina To visit their daughter Julie. Trips to Niagara Falls. Trips to Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and Georgia to visit their son Jim in the army. There were also 3 cruises to Bermuda, and a trip to Ireland. When she had free time to herself, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, sewing, and crocheting. She made curtains, clothing, pillows, dolls, blankets, and upholstery. She made countless baby blankets which she donated to Heartbeat. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a woman of grace, kindness, and love.
