Obituary of Frank Roman
Frank E. Roman, a mechanical engineer for Raytheon, GE, AVCO, and Samson Ocean Systems, passed away at the Courville of Manchester Assisted Living in Manchester, New Hampshire on Sunday evening, September 24, 2006. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Roman was born in Boston. He was the son of Polish Immigrants the late Jacob and Helen Romanowski. He was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. Mr. Roman went on to further his education receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. He served his country as a member of the United Sates Army during World War II. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Roman and his wife settled in Burlington in 1959 where they resided until 1993 when they moved to Nashua, New Hampshire
Mr. Roman is the beloved husband of the late Sophie (Prokopivnuk). He is the loving father of John C. of Billerica, Carolyn Ciccio of FL, Mary & her husband Steven Romano of Bedford, NH, Elizabeth & her husband Lawrence Parsons of Corydon, IN, and Fran & his wife Christine of Alexandria, NH. He is predeceased by 4 brothers; Joseph, William, Edward and Henry Roman. He is the loving grandfather of Matthew Ciccio, Kimberly Romano, John Romano, Nicholas Parsons, Jacqueline Roman, Catherine Roman and Victoria Roman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday September 28 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Frank’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
