Obituary of John Crowe

John J. Crowe, owner of John J. Crowe & Sons Carpet Company passed away after a long battle with melanoma cancer on Saturday night, May 3, 2014. He was 52 years old. John was born in Dorchester. His family moved from Dorchester to Burlington when he was 8 years old. He was a graduate of Burlington High School Class of 1979. He worked for a number of carpet companies including Anderson Flooring before going out on his own. He owned John J. Crowe & Sons carpet for number of years doing residential and commercial carpet sales and installations. John’s life revolved around his family especially his 3 children; Ryan (13), Alex (11) , and Kate (8). Even before the first onset of his cancer, John appreciated how precious the time he spent with his children. He made everything special whether it was Cape Cod Vacations, apple picking, sleigh rides, paint ball, riding quads, or any other event or activity he could share with his children. He coached their baseball and basketball teams and was their religious education teacher at St. Malachy Church. Christmas was a very special holiday for John. He would search for a special humorous gifts for each one of his family members just to make the holiday a little bit more memorable and fun. He did his best to be a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. During his struggle with cancer, his family, friends, and community rallied to help John fight his illness. It was uplifting to John when they ran a benefit to help him get by. That night he was overwhelmed by the amount of love, concern, and generosity showered upon him. John was the very proud, devoted father of Ryan (13), Alex (11) & Kate (8). He was the loving son of Leo F. & Mary “Maureen” (Regan) Crowe of Burlington. He was the brother of Eileen Walker & her husband George of Merrimack, NH, Kathleen Cardwell & her companion James Gochis of Burlington, and Leo T. & his wife Kara of Methuen. John was also survived by many loving Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and friends. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128/95, Woburn side) on Wednesday, May 7 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St, Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
