Obituary of Helen Beers
Helen M. Beers, a resident of Burlington for 46 years, passed away at the Meadows at Edgewood Nursing Care Facility in North Andover on Friday night, September 29, 2006. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Beers was born and raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Elmira Briere. She was a graduate of Somerville High School. She was a long time employee of M.I.T. where she worked as a staff associate. She was an active member of St. Margaret’s Church as well as the Burlington Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading. She was devoted to her family and treasured the time spent with her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and large extended family.
Mrs. Beers is the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Beers. She is the loving mother of Henry E. Beers of Stevensville, MT and Stephen W. Beers of Naples, FL formerly of Burlington. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Marx of Holbrook and predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. She is the sister-in-law of Ruth Briere of Burlington. She is the proud grandmother of Andria Anderson, Sean, Matthew, Gregory, David and Jonathan Beers and great grandmother of Meredith Beers, Caleb and Jude Anderson. She is also survived by many friends.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, October 3 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
