Obituary of Concetta Assenza

Concetta (Saraceno) Assenza passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, March 14, 2006. The beloved wife of Salvatore Assenza, she was 74 years old. Mrs. Assenza was born and raised in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Antonietta Saraceno. Mrs. Assenza and her huband Salvatore grew up in the same hometown in Italy. They married while still living in Italy and moved to the United States in 1954. They lived in the North End of Boston before moving to Burlington in 1964. Mrs. Assenza worked for Container Corporation in Medford for over 30 years. Her most important role in her life was to provide a home for her husband and children. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. She is the beloved wife of Salvatore. She is the loving mother of Maria & her husband Ted Duffey of Burlington and Sebastian Assenza & his wife Barbara of Fort Salonga, NY. She is the grandmother of Megan, Brian, and Liam Assenza. She is also survived by many relatives in Italy. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, March 17 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
