Obituary of Charles Aronis
Charles R. “Bud” Aronis, Co-owner of Aljane Insurance and Tax Service in Medford passed away after a short illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Sunday morning, April 27, 2008. He was 75 years old.
Charles was born in Chelsea the son of the late Theodore and Jennie Aronis. He grew up and was educated in Chelsea. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He returned home and went to Boston College to earn his Degree in Accounting. He would also earn his Master’s Degree from Northeastern University. One of Bud’s first jobs after college was with Sterling Electronics. He started as a salesman and moved his way up to become Vice President of Sales. He spent over 20 years with Sterling Electronics before leaving to pursue his fledgling business called Aljane Insurance and Tax Service, which is located on Salem Street in Medford. He had spent the last 40 years guiding his clients and friends with their insurance and tax preparation needs. He had been working up until this past month.
Although Bud worked extremely hard in his profession, he always found time to be with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed the beach and Cape Cod. He had a vacation home in Falmouth for 25 years. In recent years, he enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter months. He played golf. He was a true Boston Sports fan who celebrated and anguished in teams’ successes and disappointments. He took great pride in his work ethic and was a wonderful role model for his children.
Bud was the loving husband of Frances “Fran” (Forsythe) Aronis of Burlington. He was the loving father of Alison & her husband Jeffrey McCommas of Dracut, Mark Aronis & his wife Anna of Stoneham, Suzanne & her husband Marc Stuzynski of Bedford, and Jeffrey Aronis & his fiancée Rachel Saks of Waltham. He was the brother of Theodore “Ted” Aronis of Groton and the late Paul Aronis. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Marc, Luke & Joseph Aronis and Isabella, Jackson, Brooke & Blake Stuzynski. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, April 30 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
