Obituary of Edward Terenzoni
Edward B. Terenzoni, a resident of Burlington for 50 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, on Thursday afternoon, June 12, 2008. The husband of Loretta M. (Matulewicz) he was 82 years old.
Ed was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Jerome and Mary Terenzoni. He was raised and educated in East Cambridge. After high school and a month shy of 18th birthday, he enlisted in the United States Navy to fight in World War II. He was a Gunner’s Mate Third Class. His ship made 19 transatlantic crossings protecting supply ships vital to the war effort. Ed was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, European-Africa-Middle Eastern Theatre Medal. Ed’s service to his country had a lasting effect on his life. He was extremely proud to have served his country.
Ed worked as a truck driver at Lincoln Labs in Lexington for 35 years. He was an active member of the Burlington Knights of Columbus and was a Third and Fourth Degree Knight. Ed enjoyed attending many of the socials at the K of C. He was also a member of the “Koffee Club” and enjoyed playing cards with his many friends.
Ed was very content with his life. He did not have to search for happiness, because he found it at his home with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He loved his home and neighborhood in Burlington.
Ed was the beloved husband of Loretta M. (Matulewicz) Terenzoni. Loving father of Mary Anne Faria & her husband Leonard of Barnstead, NH and Mark Terenzoni & his wife Kathleen of Hudson, NH. He was the brother of Walter Terenzoni of Cumberland, RI and Robert Terenzoni of Bedford. He was the proud grandfather of Emily, Lauren & Matthew Faria and Nicole, Ryan, Tyler, Mikayla & Dylan Terenzoni.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, June 17 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
