Obituary of Providenza Bramanti

Providenza “Provy” (LaMonica) Bramanti passed away after a long illness at the Sunbridge of North Reading Nursing Facility on Thursday afternoon, June 12, 2008. She was 86 years old. Provy was born in the town of Siracusa in Sicily, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Guiseppi “Joseph” LaMonica and Josephine (Fuggetta) LaMonica. Seeking a better way of life, her family immigrated to the United States when Provy was 6 years. They settled in the North End of Boston, where she grew up and was educated. She had lived in Medford with her husband and her children from 1950 to 1967 and then made their home in Saugus from 1967 to 1997. She enjoyed being a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church in Saugus and served as President of the Ladies Sodality at the Church. She was a huge Red Sox and Bruins Fan. Provy worked with her late husband Frank in their company called F.D. Bramanti & Sons. They made hand made musical instrument boxes for 40 years. Their loyal and well-known clients came from all over for their fine craftsmanship. Provy’s life centered around family and food, with family always coming first. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. Her family enjoyed vacationing in Buzzards Bay at Hide Away Village where they spent many wonderful summers together with their friends. Provy’s other passion was that of cooking. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends. She wanted everyone to be happy, so if that meant cooking more than a few main dishes for dinner so that everyone could have their favorites that was what she did. Sunday dinners were a very important part of the Bramanti family. Sitting around the table enjoying great meals and good company were a way of life thanks to Provy and her husband Frank. Provy was the beloved wife of the late Frank D. Bramanti. She was the loving mother of Frank D. Bramanti, Jr. & his wife Donna of Buzzards Bay and Connie Cascio & her husband Ray of Burlington. She was the sister of Libby LaMonica of Port Richey, FL, Joseph LaMonica of Boston, Richard LaMonica of Tewksbury, Connie Cassarino of Athol, Lucy Giliberto of Arlington, and the late Salvatore LaMonica. She was the proud Nonni of Raymond, Peter, & Christopher Cascio, Deana Quinn, Frank D. Bramanti, III, Stephen Bramanti, and Alysia Russo and Great Grandmother of Brandon Peter Cascio, Anthony Russo, Raymond Cascio, III, and Nicholas Quinn. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington on Monday, June 16 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be private. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Provy’s name may be made to Sunbridge of North Reading, Sunbridge View Unit Activity Fund, 134 North St., North Reading, MA 01864.
