Obituary of Frederick Cerrone

Frederick Cerrone, a resident of Burlington for 49 years, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008. The husband of 53 years of Anne A. (Anzalone) he was 94 years old. Fred was born, raised and educated in East Boston. He was the son of Italian immigrants the late John and Elvira Cerrone. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Area Ribbon, European-African-Middle East-Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon 9 stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon 1 star. After leaving the service he went on to work at the Boston Naval Shipyard as a Machinist for many years. He also had a successful career in Real Estate. Fred enjoyed spending time working in his yard and around the pool. He was an avid baseball fan. Fred was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Burlington. Fred is the beloved husband of Ann A. (Anzalone). He is the loving father of Deborah Kimball & her husband Ken of Charlotte, NC, Frederick W. Cerrone & his wife Christine of Atlanta, GA, Judy Derle & her husband Richard of Waltham, Carol Ann Cerrone of Lexington, Joan Cerrone of Dracut. He is the brother of the late Elizabeth Heath, Alfred and George Cerrone. Grandfather of Geoff Follansbee, Greg Follansbee, Rachel White, Heather Silvia, Jill Sidelinger, Sherry Morse, Sean Goodman & Christopher Goodman. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, June 20 at 11 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at Noon. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Fred’s name may be made to Social Service Centers, Inc., 15 Depot Square, Suite 5, Lexington, MA 02420.
