Obituary of Michael Marchese
Michael F. Marchese of Derry, NH, devoted and loving husband of Lisa (French) Bouchard lost his brave battle with cancer surrounded by his family on July 9, 2008, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House.
Michael was born in Cambridge, MA, the son of the late Barbara and Michael Marchese. He was raised and educated in Arlington MA.
He served his country in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. For many years he resided in Burlington ,MA where he raised his children Michael and Lisa.
For the past eight years Mike was a proud owner and operator of B & M Knife Sharpening Service. The success of Mike’s business was built through his amazing dedication to his customers, his quick wit and his boundless energy.
With a twinkle in his eye, a spring in his step and an unparalleled sense of humor, Mike touched the lives of everyone who he came in contact with. He was happiest sitting on the back of his boat, the L & M, at the Danversport Yacht Club where he was a member for over twenty-five years, riding his Harley Davidson with Bruce Springsteen blasting away, or hanging out with his dog Harley. Some of his greatest passions were working in his beautiful garden and tending to his bonsai plants. He was a lover of good times, good friends, good food and good fun. He never hesitated to lead a helping hand.
Mike was most proud of his family. Not only was he a devoted father to his two children, but by finding his wife Lisa he was able to brighten the lives of his two beloved step daughters Ali and Lizzie. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
In addition to his wife Lisa, he is survived by his beloved son Michael, husband of Stephanie of Burlington MA and his adoring daughter Lisa, wife of Marc Ehrgott of Andover MA and step children Alexandra and Alizabeth Bouchard of Rockport MA. He was the proud grandfather of Samantha, Kaitlyn and Michael Marchese and Olivia, Jack, Ryan and Julia Ehrgott. He was also survived by his sisters Janet Lombardi, Janice Santonelli, both of Arlington MA and Elaine Catalano of Chelmsford MA.
