Obituary of Lillian Connors
Lillian “Boo” Connors, a wife of 60 years, passed away after a short illness at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Monday evening, September 1, 2008. She was 80 years old.
Lillian was born in Somerville, the daughter of the late Harold and Lillian Jensen. She grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1945. She married her husband John, a veteran of WW II, in April of 1948. They made their home in Somerville for a number of years and they settled in Burlington in December of 1959. She worked for over 20 years for the Burlington Public Schools in the cafeterias of the Wildwood and Fox Hill Elementary Schools, retiring in 1983.
Lillian had a number of interests. She enjoyed listening to country music especially that of Willie Nelson. Lillian loved the ocean and visiting different lighthouses. For 23 years Lillian and John spent the winter months in Hollywood, Florida. She enjoyed going out to eat. She had a fondness for animals. Lillian was the happiest when she was spending time at her home with her husband, her children and their families.
Lillian is the beloved wife of 60 years of John J. Connors. She is the loving mother of Laurie A. Silva & her husband Gary of Lexington and Mark M. Connors of Burlington. She is the sister of the late James P. Jensen. She is the loving grandmother of Gary Silva & his wife Kerry of Woburn and Brian Silva of Lexington. She is the great grandmother of Gary & Kevin Silva of Woburn. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
