Obituary

Dwight E. Nickerson, a resident of Burlington for over 50 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington with his family at his side on Thursday evening, June 21, 2012. The beloved husband of the late Jennie E. (Botting), he was 87 years old.


Dwight was born, raised and educated in Madison NH. He was the son of the late Mark and Reva Nickerson. Dwight was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Navy. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal, and Philippine Liberation Medal. Dwight was a graduate of American Television Institute in Chicago. He went on to have a successful career as an Electrical Engineer working for GTE Government Systems for 34 years. He was a member of Simonds Lodge in Burlington.


Dwight was the beloved husband of the late Jennie E. (Botting). He was the loving father of Bonnie Arabasz & her husband Paul of Bedford. Brother of the late Bernard Nickerson of Conway of NH and the late Mary Bates, Geraldine Thompson and Ida Nickerson. Proud grandfather of Kristin Arabasz of Chelmsford, Rachel Arabasz of South Boston & Kathryn Arabasz of Bedford. A memorial service will be held at Atria Longmeadow Place in Burlington on Friday, July 6 at 10:30.Relatives & friends resepctfully invited to attend. Memorials in Dwight's name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
