Obituary of Carole Howard

Carole L. Howard, a house wife and former elementary school teacher passed away after a long illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Monday, January 30, 2006. She had resided in Burlington for the past 30 years. Mrs. Howard was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Bleiler. She grew up in Everett. After graduating from Malden Catholic High School, she attended Regis College where she earned a Psychology Degree. She taught first grade at the Webster School in Everett for 13 years She then put her career on hold to start a family. She enjoyed her role as home maker and mother. As her children grew, she worked on her Masters Degree at Harvard University. Mrs. Howard had strong beliefs and was always willing to give her time and support to a cause she believed in. In her 20s, she was the host of a cable television talk show called “Delights and Dilemmas”. The program ran for several years. She had her real estate license and worked for Heritage Homes Realty in Lexington. She taught religious education at Saint Margaret’s Church and an active supporter of the Heartbeat Crisis Pregnancy Center in Burlington. She was also a member of the Burlington Republican Committee. Mrs. Howard is the beloved wife of Richard Howard. She is the loving mother of Captain Richard C. Howard, USAF of Offut AFB, NE, Rachel L. & her husband Michael Mowder of Lowell. She is the sister of Charles Bleiler of CA, Dolores Matthes of Mattapoisett and Marilyn Green of Canton. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
