Obituary of Annette Blazon
Annette Irene Blazon passed away after a brief illness at the Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham on Tuesday night, June 22, 2010. She was 101 years old.
Annette was born in Lowell, the daughter of French Canadian immigrants, the late Philippe and Sarah Roy. She grew up and was educated in Lowell. She married her late husband George in November of 1939. She worked as the Paymaster at Hub Hosiery for 20 years. She stopped working to become a full time mother. Over the years she had resided in Lowell and Dorchester until moving to Burlington in 1989 to live with her daughter.
Annette held strong to her French Canadian roots and the importance of family. She was an active member of St. Jeanne d’Arc Church in Lowell. She was a member of the PTO at the St. Jeanne d’Arc School. Annette kept a close connection to her relatives in the United States and Canada. She enjoyed traveling to California, Florida, New York and of course back to her family’s roots in the vicinity of Quebec, Canada.
At the age of 101, Annette was a part of what most only know from history books. She lived through 2 world Wars, the Great Depression, the invention of television, computers, the internet, freeways, and cell phones. Because of these experiences she learned to live modestly and to appreciate the simple things in life, home, family and friends. She was blessed to have seen her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. As an exclusive member of the centenarians, she has given her family a unique view of history and the hope of a long healthy life.
Annette was the beloved wife of the late George A. Blazon. She was the loving mother of Irene Crocker & her husband Thomas of Burlington. She was the sister of the late Eva L’Heureux, Leo, Henry, Adelard, Albert, and Lillian Roy. She was the sister-in-law of Jeannette Roy of ME and Eleanor Blazon of TX. She was the proud grandmother of Brenda Solomon & her husband Mark of Manassas, VA, Kim Ellis & her husband Tim of Londonderry, NH, and Stacey Crocker of Burlington and great grandmother of Christina & Drew Ellis and Justin & Owen Solomon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, June 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, Burlington at Noon.
