Obituary of Elizabeth Jean King

Elizabeth Jean King, passed away at the Baker Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill Saturday evening, December 25, 2010. The wife of the late Harry E. King, she was 86 years old. Jean was born in Tewksbury. Jean and her late husband Harry lived in Burlington for 25 years. She moved to Port St. Lucie in Florida. Jean devoted her life to her husband and family. She was the ultimate mother. In addition to bringing up her own 7 children she was a foster mother to an additional 13 children over the years. Jean was very involved in her children’s lives. She was involved in the Boy Scouts and the Cub Scouts. She never missed any of their activities or sporting events. She frequently took yearly family trips to Surette’s Island in Nova Scotia Canada where he family was originally from. She never got her driver’s license and Jean could be seen walking everywhere. She was devoted to her husband Harry who passed way in 1999 after over 54 years of marriage. Jean leaves a family legacy of family. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Harry E. King. She was the loving mother of Marlene Schulz of Newport, NC, Paula Cushing of Billerica, Laurie King of MA, Duane King of Billerica, Dale King of Thornton, NH, and the late Harry E. King and Brian King. Jean is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday Dec. 30 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
