Obituary of Helen O'Connell

Helen R. O’Connell, A loving mother of 4 and a grandmother of 11, passed away on her 66th birthday Monday, December 27, 2010. Helen was born in Winthrop to Edgar and Helen (Coyne) Hall. She grew up in Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School. Before she retired in 2007, she worked at BASF / Fuji Film in Bedford for almost 25 years as a supervisor. Helen enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family and friends, these blankets will be treasured keepsakes by all. She enjoyed camping at her seasonal site at Beachwood Shores Campground in Effingham, NH. It should be noted that this sweet, loving grandmother was also a NASCAR fan. Helen was the proud mother of Kimberley and her husband, Glenn Peters, Kevin and his wife Kim of Billerica, Kelli O’Connell, Casey and her husband Andrew Richer, all of Burlington, and Lisa Hall of Lynn. She was the sister of the late Marion Hall. Helen is survived by many loving grandchildren; Justin and Cheyenne Mareiro, Cameron, Madison, and Alycia Peters, Jamie, Colleen, Emily, and Julia O’Connell, Brady Richer, and Christyl Skelton. Helen’s grandchildren were “her whole world.” Helen was also a mom and grandmother to many of her children’s friends and their children who would also call her mom and Grammy Helen. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St, Burlington, on Monday, January 3 at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
