Obituary of Lorenzo Gamba

Lorenzo Gamba, a resident of Burlington for 32 years passed away at his home on Tuesday night with his family at his side. He was 86 years old. Lorenzo was born in Colombia, the son of the late Pedro and Susana Gamba. He grew up and was educated in Colombia. He was the 3rd oldest of 12 children. He immigrated to the United States in 1965. He lived in Dorchester for 12 years, and then settled in Burlington to raise his family. He had worked at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center until his retirement. Lorenzo, growing up in such a large family, knew the importance of a strong family bond and providing a warm and loving home. His life revolved around his family. He took great pride in providing for his family and maintaining their home. In his leisure time he enjoyed salt water fishing. Lorenzo was the devoted husband of Beatriz (Penaloza). He was the loving father of Gloria B. Gamba of Burlington, Rodrigo Gamba & his wife Sharon of Oxnard, CA and the late Jairo Gamba. He was the brother of Enith Walteros, Rosa, Maria, Antonio, Gilberto, Isauro, Gustavo, & Camilo Gamba, Claudina Tissnes, Gricelia Caldas and Bertha Ramirez. He was the proud grandfather of Steven M., Joseph T. & Jacob P. Gamba. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Jan 8 at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
