Obituary of Claire Molloy

Claire M. (Perry) Molloy passed away after a brief illness on Saturday evening, August 13, 2011. She was 84 years old. Claire was born in Somerville. She was raised and educated in Somerville. She was one of 9 children born to the late Phillip & Mary Perry. After graduating from High School Claire moved to Washington D. C. where she worked for the government for a number of years. She settled in Burlington in 1961 where she raised her six children. Claire devoted her life to raising her children and providing a home for her family. After her children were older she went to work at Merrill Lynch in Burlington for over 15 years. Claire was one of the longest residents living at Birchcrest in Burlington where she made many friendships. She enjoyed playing Bingo and taking occasional trips to Foxwoods. She looked forward to her yearly summer vacations on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Claire enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch and sewing. Claire’s dog “Allie” was a huge part of her life. Allie was a wonderful companion to Claire and Claire took pleasure in “spoiling” Allie. One of her greatest pleasures was her Sunday drives for dinner and shopping with Ruthie, Charlotte, and Wilma. Claire’s family was the most important part of her life and she leaves a legacy of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friendships. Claire was the loving mother of Joseph Molloy & his wife Joyce of Saugus, Cynthia Bottomley of CA, Kathleen Anderson & her husband Robert of Billerica, Lawrence of UT, Marie Bennett & her husband James of Burlington, & Patricia Lyons & her husband Joseph of Burlington. Sister of Edmond Perry of Centerville, Phillip Perry of FL, Grace Ferry of Newburyport, Joan Lyons, Daniel & John Perry all of CA and the late Phyllis Rucinski and Doris Perry. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Former wife of the late Joseph Molloy. Best friend of Ruth Everton of Burlington. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wed. August 17 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
