Obituary of Helen Graham

Helen L. (Pratt) Graham, a retired Office Manager for Goodway Graphics, passed away at the Care Dimensions Hospice House on Friday, November 30, 2018.  The beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Graham, she was 87 years old.

Helen was born in Cambridge. She was raised and educated in Everett and a 1949 Graduate of Everett High School.  She was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Maude Pratt.   Helen would meet her future husband Jack Graham at a dance club.  They were married on May 23, 1954.  Helen and Jack lived in Malden for a few years after their marriage eventually settling on Hilltop Drive in Burlington in 1963 where they would raise their six children and made many friendships.

Helen had a full and rewarding life. She was the ultimate wife and mother.  In addition to raising her six children she worked at Goodway Graphics for over 20 years.  Helen was a kind, humble and loving woman who always put the needs of her family above her own.   She had an outgoing personality and had a close circle of friends during her years in Burlington.  They enjoyed playing cards together, bingo at the K of C and an occasional trip to Foxwoods.   Helen loved to travel and took trips to Ireland, England, Aruba, California and Florida.    When her children where young the family would vacation in York Maine.  The family also had a memorable road trip to Washington D.C. that left her children with wonderful memories.

Helen followed the Boston Red Sox and was David Ortiz’s “Big Papi’s” biggest fan.  One of the most exciting moments in Helens life was when her granddaughter met Big Papi at a book signing and dialed up her Grammy on the phone and gave Helen an opportunity to say “Hi” to Big Papi!

Helen’s greatest joy came with the birth of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the ultimate Grammy.  She was always very interested to hear about her grandchildren’s lives and never missed an important moment in their life.   Weekend visits to Grammy & Papa’s home was always an event for the grandchildren and left them with warm and loving memories.  Helen’s older grandchildren were fortunate to take trips to Disney with her.  Helen’s grandchildren will remember her as “always down for a good time.”
