Obituary of Ann Kiely

Ann E. (Foley) Kiely passed away at her home surrounded by her family, on Monday morning November 19, 2012. The cherished wife of William F. Kiely Jr., who passed away in November of 2011. Ann was born and raised in Cambridge. She was the one of three daughters of the late John and Edna Foley. Ann graduated from Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School. She moved to Burlington in 1962, where she and Bill raised their three children. While they were in school Ann worked from home for Little Brown Publishing Co. When her children were older she went to work for them in their offices in Waltham. Ann loved traveling with her husband and family. They purchased a van in order to take their grandchildren on many vacations to Myrtle Beach SC, and Florida. They also traveled to Russia, Italy, and Ireland. They also took many cruises which included the Mediterranean, The Inward Passage in Alaska, and many cruises in the Carribean. When Ann was 60 she went to school to earn her travel agents license. Ann also enjoyed gardening, tennis, and bowling. When home she enjoyed nothing more than having her family over for one of our wonderful dinners with Nana and Papa. Ann was the mother of Barbara Gerardi and her companion Mark Batten of Westford , William F. III , and John of Hyannis. Sister of the late Patricia Erickson and Alice Foley. Grandmother of Sarah,Carla, and Stasia Gerardi, Jamie, Rachael, and JJ Kiely. Great Grandmother of Sean Kiely. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St, Burlington (Exit 34 off rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday , Nov. 24 at 11am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachys Church, 99 Bedford St, Burlngton at 12 Noon. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
