Obituary of Jason Chew
Jason Chew, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his White Mountain home, passed away tragically on Saturday morning, December 1, 2012 as the result of a single motor vehicle accident. He was 38 years old.
Jason was born in Newton, MA. He grew up in Burlington and was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1993. He had worked many years for A.J. Rose and was currently working for C. J. Doherty of Medford. After work Friday, he had a great visit with his family in Burlington before heading home to Warren, NH for the weekend. The accident occurred minutes from his home. His family believes he was out “moose hunting” as he enjoyed taking late night rides to look for wildlife.
He found his home in Warren, NH in 1999. It was the perfect location for all the activities he so enjoyed. Whether it be his motorcycle, snowmobiles, ATVs, classic car, trucks or vans, he took pleasure in being on the roads and in the woods of New Hampshire. He loved anything with a motor. If it had a motor and he could drive it, or take it apart he was happy. He enjoyed exploring and was always delighted to find a hidden treasure. For most an old buried bottle was trash, but Jason it was a piece of history and was worth preserving. Most of all, he loved sharing adventures and spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to both friends and strangers in need.
Jason was the son of Jane Chew of Burlington and Robert Chew of Woburn. He was the loving father of Madison Rose Chew and stepfather of Jonathan O’Neill. He was the longtime companion of Jen (Obremski) O’Neill of Billerica. He was the brother of Heather Chew and her partner Kevin Healy of Burlington and uncle of Signe Anna Healy. Jason was also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 of Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Wednesday, December 5 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Immediately following the Mass everyone is welcome to join the Chew family at the American Legion, 162 Winn St., Burlington.
