Obituary of Charles Marshall Harvey
Charles Marshall Harvey passed away at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire after a brief illness. The husband of Audrey (Mercer), he was 76 years old.
Marshall was born and raised in Somerville. He was the son of the late George and Mabel Harvey. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Corporal. He was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Marshall was employed for 14 years as a machinist at MA/COM in Burlington. He then went on to open his own handyman business in Burlington, which was called “Have Tools Will Travel”. Marshall and his family lived in Burlington for 27 years before moving to Rangeley Maine for 10 years. For the past five years he had resided in Goffstown where he was very fortunate to be able to spend time with his grandchildren who lived close by in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Marshall loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fresh water fishing along with hunting. He was a very talented craftsman and was always working around the house and building things. He even built a porch at his home in Burlington. Marshall’s family was very important to him. He enjoyed the winters he and his wife spent with his daughter Debbie in Florida, and the many special times he spent with this wife, his children, and grandchildren.
Marshall is the beloved husband of Audrey (Mercer). He is the loving father of Frederick Harvey & his wife Sherry of Westford, Judy & her husband Jay Sheppard of Goffstown, NH, and Debbie & her husband Michael Tracey of Odessa, FL. He is the brother of Thomas of Florence, MA and the late Genevieve Mahoney, Howard and Robert Harvey. He is the grandfather of Ryan & Jaime Sheppard and Christine & Michael Harvey. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, November 3 at 12:00 Noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the services from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
