Obituary of David A. Shields

David A. Shields, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, following a long illness, on Saturday August 14, 2021.  David was born in Boston. He was raised in Burlington and a 1980 graduate of Burlington High School.  After high school, David attended Bentley University. He started his career at Sun Life of Canada.  Growing up, he spent his summers at his family’s home in Falmouth on Cape Cod, spending many happy times with his family boating, golfing and fishing.  He worked at the famous Casino by the Sea in Falmouth Heights, along with his brothers and sister.  He loved the Cape and started his family with his former wife Suzy in Sandwich, MA, where they had 3 beautiful children whom he was very proud of.  David was an avid reader, fisherman and enthusiastic sports fan.

David was the father of Kasey Shields & his wife Leelianna of TX, Jenna Shields & Kevin Shields both of Burlington.  Grandfather of Enzo Shields.  Son of Donna (Torno) & the late Elwood N. “Al” Shields of Billerica, formerly of Burlington.  Brother of Mark Shields & his wife Kristin of OR, Kyle Shields & his wife Michele of Burlington, and Allison Theirrien & her husband Sonny of Burlington.  Former husband of Suzanne (Magee) Shields of Burlington.
