Cynthia A. (Hinton) Nitche, passed away peacefully at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the age of 67.
Cindy was born in Lancaster, Ohio where she was raised until high school when her family moved to Watkins Glen, New York. Cindy settled in Burlington where she would raise her two sons. Cindy worked hard to provide for her sons working as an Interior Landscaper, maintaining plants in office buildings. Later in life she was a Manager at Antons in Beverly, a job she truly loved with employees she treated like her own kids. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sew and mend anything you put in front of her. Cindy’s life was all about being a mom and everything she did revolved around her sons. She made sure they were involved in youth sports and other activities when they were younger. She was always there cheering them on, freezing for many hours in the hockey rink, and screaming in the stands at the Shawsheen Rams football games.
Cindy always looked forward to their vacations at Hampton Beach, walking the strip and eating lobster and steamers at Brown’s. Cindy was the “cool mom” in the neighborhood. She made sure the doors of her home were open for all her sons’ friends. Her home was where the boys and their friends hung out and had their annual Super Bowl parties.
Being born on Christmas Day made it a very special holiday for Cindy. Every year she always looked forward to spending time with her mom over the holidays. She enjoyed knitting afghans for all her family members. She loved to read cookbooks and would often share older recipes with her son Joe, who shared her love for cooking after preparing many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with her by his side. She was an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with Anthony and his dog Trina. In recent years she enjoyed making new friends at Tower Hill and participating in their activities, especially bingo! Cindy will be remembered as a supportive and proud mom who had so much love for her two sons and their families and leaves behind many dear friends.
Cindy was the loving mother of Anthony of Woburn and Joseph and his wife Julie of Chelmsford. She was the grandmother of Brian, Olivia, and Cora. Cindy was the sister of Grace and her husband David Basher of Haverhill, MA and Boyd and his wife Brenda Hinton of Goose Creek, SC. She was the aunt of beloved niece Adrienne Hinton of NC and many other great nephews and nieces. She is the former wife of Stephen Nitche of FL. She is predeceased by her parents, the late Glenn and Mary Hinton.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 4-6 p.m., concluding with Funeral Services at 6.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cindy’s name may be made to Woburn Animal Hospital, 373 Old Russell St., Woburn, MA 01801.
