Obituary of Paula Getchell

Paula Ann Getchell, a woman who loved life, people, and those in need passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was just 52 years old. Paula was born in Arlington, Massachusetts. She grew up and was educated in Burlington, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1978. Paula was an extremely thoughtful and caring individual, who always thought of those less fortunate than herself. She worked most of her career with both the physically and emotionally disabled. She had worked as a caregiver at group homes geared around young adults. She had a strong attachment to her clients and often took them on special day trips and outings. It wasn’t unusual for Paula to bring them home to visit with her family. She also worked at the Welfare office in Nashua for many years. Paula’s outgoing and caring personality attracted many friends. She loved life, her family, and her many friends. She was simply a fun person to be with, whether it was sitting in the sun by a pool, a party, or just hanging around. She leaves all those who knew her with countless wonderful memories filled with fun and laughter. Paula was the loving daughter of Joan A. (Hallsen) Getchell of York, ME, formerly of Burlington and the late Paul Getchell. Sister of Donald Getchell & his wife Lisa of York, ME. Aunt of William Getchell of York & Bethel, ME. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Sunday, April 7 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at the funeral home beginning at 3:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
