Obituary of Mary Lou Morrison

Mary Lou Morrison, a woman devoted to her family, passed away at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 80 years old. Mary Lou was born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Timothy and Helen Sheehan. She grew up and was educated in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She was an avid skier and while on a group ski trip she met her future husband, Robert Morrison. They were married in 1957 and started their life together in Burlington. They continued to share their love of skiing and ran a ski club with their friends for many years. They also expanded their interests together over the years. They enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, vacations on the beaches of Cape Cod, and spending some of their retirement years in Florida. Mary Lou’s joy was her family. She was blessed to have raised her 3 children, see her 7 grandchildren grow up, and see the births of 4 great grandchildren. She was actively involved in her children’s activities growing up. She was her children’s number one fan, as well as their softball coach, Girl Scout Leader, and confidant. She was proud to be “Gram” to all her family and her memory will live on in all their hearts forever. Mary Lou was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Morrison. She was the loving mother of Robert E. Morrison, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, Anne Marie Deem of Derry, NH and Patricia Malphrus & her husband David of Swampscott. She was the sister of John Sheehan & Family of Deltona, FL. She was the proud grandmother of Brian Morrison & his wife Kaitlin, Sarah Morrison, Brittany Marks & her husband Clint, Shawna & Devin Swanfeldt, Olivia & Nevaeh Deem. Great grandmother of Tatum Marks, Levi Hornes, Mason Morrison & Nyomi Moreira. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington on Saturday, April 13th at 10 a.m. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, April 12th from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in Mary Lou’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
