Obituary of Edward Crossley
Edward A. Crossley, Sr. passed away at his home in Burlington, MA, on Friday, April 12, 2013. The husband of 59 years of Mary F. Crossley, he was 88 years old.
Edward was born in Malden, the son of the late Henry and Gertrude Crossley of Revere. He was raised and educated in Massachusetts and was a 1967 graduate of Northeastern University’s Lincoln College. Edward and Mary were married in 1949 on Christmas Day. In 1955, they moved to Revere where they lived until 2004 when they moved to Burlington.
In World War II, Edward held the rank of Seaman First Class aboard the US Navy’s SS Samuel Huntington. His ship having been sunk off the coast of Italy in 1944, Edward was re-assigned to a base on Saipan, one of the Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific. Edward retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked as an Electronic Technician at Boston’s Logan Airport. Edward was a Hypnotist. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, and reading.
Edward is the father of Edward A. Crossley, Jr. of Fairburn, GA, Linda Unsworth and her husband James of Burlington, and Kevin and his wife Loretta of Westford. He was the proud grandfather of Garrett Gradozzi, and his wife Sarah, Neil Gradozzi, Abby, Jack, and Emily Crossley.
