Obituary of Jane Christiansen Harrington
Jane Christiansen Harrington, a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 63 years old. Having dealt with multiple illnesses for years, she cherished every moment, especially those with her family, & devoted husband. She was the loving wife to her husband David for 41 years. They met when she was 20 years old and working for David’s father. They married when she was 22 years old and have been together ever since. In recent years, their favorite date was spent testing their luck at Encore.
Special family memories were often made during summers in York Beach, Maine. She loved going to Long and Short Sands beaches, Nubble Lighthouse, and trips to the Goldenrod with all the family. She was the loving, fun, cool, and, most importantly, dedicated aunt. Jane worked at Boston College School of Law for 26 years where she was the office manager and fiscal coordinator.
Outside of work, Jane loved to read, knit, and crochet- always doing or making something for someone special in her life. She was an incredible cook and baker. She was so talented that she made elaborate wedding cakes for family members and close friends. Jane made every holiday and family event special and memorable. Her tiramisu was always a hit at the holidays or family gatherings. She would spend hours and hours decorating the home, including the most beautiful Christmas tree she and David would decorate. Gifts always had a special meaning and were meticulously wrapped. Her Easter baskets looked like they were professionally made. Jane kept her immediate and extended family close. There will be a huge void in the Harrington and Christiansen families.
Jane was the beloved wife of David Harrington. She was the devoted daughter of Marilyn Christiansen and the late Norman Christiansen of Burlington. She was the loving sister of Paul Christiansen & his wife Riza of Houston, TX and Beth French & her husband Gordon of Bedford, MA. She was a special aunt to Marissa Taylor & her husband Brandon, Isabella Jane Christiansen, and Julianna Jane French-Ferreira & her husband Pedro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews on the Harrington side of the family, and many close cousins and friends. She was also a pampering mother to her dog Emmie and her cats.
