Obituary of Richard Eugene Soloski

Richard Eugene Soloski, a former Vice President with Hycor in the Defense Industry, passed away on May 24, 2023. Richard was born to his parents Frank and Stella in Schenectady, NY. Even after Richard’s family moved away from Schenectady, to Massachusetts, Schenectady always played a part of Richard’s life. When it came time to decide where he was going to attend college, Richard packed his bags and went back to Schenectady to attend Union College. He worked hard at his learning and got a great job out of school working for General Electric. After some time with GE, Richard moved on to AVCO based in Wilmington, MA. He enjoyed his time there but was ready for his next adventure. Richard and some friends decided they were ready to start their own company that they called Hycor based in Woburn, MA. The group worked hard and Richard was able to retire in 1986, leaving himself to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Richard was the very Loved husband of Lynn Cowles. He was the cherished and loved father to John of Athens, GA, Kathy Patterson of Burlington, MA and Richard of Lynnwood, WA and the late Thomas Soloski. Richard was the father-in-law of Bobby Patterson, and Cathy Soloski. He was the loving and respected grandfather of Brandon Soloski and his wife Joyce, Drew Soloski and his wife Mizuho, Alex Soloski and his wife Sarah and Christopher Soloski. Richard was the Great – Grandfather of Kai, Josephine, Aya, and Ema. He was the loved and respected Stepfather of Jeffrey Cowles and his wife Cathy, and Scott Cowles. He was the Step Grandfather of Austin, Christian, Jeffrey, Zachary, and Jared Cowles. Good friend to Michael Gallente of Bartlett, NH. Richard was a proud and dignified gentleman and will be missed, but in our hearts forever.
