Obituary of Alicia Anne Moran
Alicia (Waters) Moran, beloved bus driver for the Burlington school system for 34 years and a lifelong Burlington resident passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 after long battle with cancer. She was 57 years old. Alicia was born in Cambridge and grew up in Burlington. She was a 1984 graduate of Shawsheen Technical High School where she studied Health Science and met her husband. She worked as a bus driver for the Fiore , A & F, and Christianson Bus Companies all whom had serviced the Burlington School system. Over those years, she was a watchful mother for her passengers, making sure they were happy, well behaved, and made it home safe and sound.
Alicia married her high school sweetheart Eric Moran in 1987. They had two children and now have a grandchild. Eric coached their son Sean’s hockey teams and Alicia was the behind the scenes manager who organized the teams paperwork and schedules. They both loved boating, and they would cruise, fish, swim, entertain, and just appreciate being out in the fresh air and on the water. She was a caring and supportive mother to her children. Always willing to lend a helping hand, be an understanding voice, and strong advocate for them, especially for her daughter, Kelly. She was so happy when she welcomed her daughter-in-law, Alyssa, into her family and then with the birth of her granddaughter, Eloise “Ellie” June Moran who is now 3 years old. Being a “Nana” was one of her greatest joys.
Alicia is survived by her beloved husband Eric Moran, her daughter Kelly, and her son Sean, his wife Alyssa and their daughter Eloise all of Burlington. She is also survived by her stepmother Martha Waters of Billerica, her supportive and well-loved sisters Pam (Waters) Hellpap and her husband Christian of Texas, and Kaitlyn (Waters) Barago and her husband Michael of Norwood. Alicia is also survived by her cousin Steven Teref and his wife Maja of Chicago, along with many nieces, nephews and close friends. Alicia is also survived by her dogs, Bones, Amelia, and Annie.
