Obituary of John A. Pladziewicz

Dr. John A. Pladziewicz, DMD, age 56, formerly with Dental Services in Cambridge for 13 years, passed away after a long illness on Monday morning, May 27, 2013. John was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Stanley and Anna Pladziewicz. He grew up in Somerville and was a 1975 graduate of Somerville High School. John then went to Tufts University where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1979 in Chemical Engineering and then in 1982 graduated from Tufts Dental School. He was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He loved his career and had a great concern for his patient’s well being. His illness forced his early retirement 5 years ago. John had a number of interests over the years. He loved music and playing bass guitar in a band, (Zenophon) and later “Victims of Circumstance”with his friends for a number of years. His love of music continued throughout his life. He loved to play poker with his family and loved to go on cruises. He married his wife Terri 24 years ago and they made their home in Burlington for the past 15 years. John loved being a dad to his children, Nikki and Jason. He loved to watch Jason play basketball, Nikki compete in cheerleading and was proud of all their academic achievements. He truly loved his family. Friends often used the words sincere, honest, and kind to describe John. John will be remembered by his devotion to his family, concern for his patients, and warm and welcoming persona. John was the beloved husband Teresa (Terri) (DeLuca). He was the proud father of Nikki and Jason. He was the brother of Dr. Paul & his wife Ramona of IL, Dr. David & his wife Dr. Katy Vitiello of Medford, Mark of Medford, and Jane of Tewksbury. He was the brother-in-law of Mary Anne Drake of Chelmsford, Donna Battle of Brockton, Fran Hadsel & her partner Wayne Tolley of Northfield, Diana Pettie of Medford, Frank & Kristen DeLuca of Nashua, NH, Julie DeLuca of Medford, Cathy Wright of Medford and her fiancé Greg DeRosa, Ann Marie Pladziewicz of Medford and Nancy Pladziewicz of FL. John was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, May 29 from 4-8 p.m. The funeral services will be private.
