Obituary of Inez Forsythe

Inez M. Forsythe leaves a legacy of Family. Inez M. Forsythe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday night, May 29, 2013. She was 98 years old. Inez was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late James and Emma Doherty. She grew up and was educated in Cambridge. She married Francis Forsythe and they settled in the Harvard Square section of Cambridge, where she raised their 5 children. Summers were spent at Sheila’s Grove on Horse Shoe Pond in New Hampshire. The many years the family spent at the camp have left countless memories filled with laughter and love for her children and grandchildren. In 1963, her husband passed away suddenly, and Inez was left alone to raise her children, the youngest being 14 years old. To provide for her family, she went to work in the Men’s Department of Jordan Marsh. In retirement she moved to Arlington. Her children’s wellbeing was always paramount and she made a point to do whatever was in her means to give a good home, education and a strong family foundation. It was these unselfish and loving qualities that forged such a strong bond within the Forsythe family. Inez was always there to lend a helping hand, sympathetic ear, or care for a grandchild. She had a distinct and unique connection with each one of her grandchildren, and blessed to see the additions of great and then great-great grandchildren. Newborn babies were always a joy and Inez would always crochet baby blankets, sweaters, and booties for the newest member of the family. For Inez, her greatest achievement was that of her family and nothing made her happier than when her family was altogether enjoying one another. Inez was the loving wife of the late Francis G. Forsythe. She was the loving mother of Carol A. Scott of Falmouth, Frances M. Aronis of Billerica formerly of Burlington, David J. Forsythe of Reading, Judith M. Goodwin of San Diego, CA and Richard W. Forsythe of Beverly. She was predeceased by her brother, James Doherty. Inez was also survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Parish, 90 Concord Road, Bedford at 9 AM.
