Obituary of Richard A Gallant

Richard A Gallant of Hampstead, NH passed away Feb 21, 2024 at the Lahey Clinic surrounded by his family. Rick grew up in Burlington MA, graduated Burlington High class of 1969. 

 

Rick was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Air Force. His one great passion was football. He played in High School then again for the Air Force. He was a football coach for 18 years coaching Billerica Pop Warner. He loved watching the kids grow and excel at his direction, those years brought him so much joy. He was a proud father of his three children and loving Papa to his seven grandchildren. 

 

Rick owned and operated his landscaping business Gallant & Sons Services for over 35 years, teaching the boys who worked for him the value of hard work and dedication, gaining his respect. He loved being at the “Shop” with the crew even after passing the torch to his son on his retirement. Rick loved watching his grandkids play sports, cheering them on in the stands.

Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He passed the knowledge of the business onto his son Nicholas, the passion of coaching onto his son Douglas and was the biggest cheerleader to his daughter Jacqueline for all her accomplishments.

 

Rick is survived by his wife Susan (Modica) of Hampstead, NH His daughter Jacqueline Ambrose and her husband Douglas of Andover MA, his son Nicholas Gallant and his wife Courtney of Burlington, MA his son Douglas Gallant and his wife Kelly of Loveland, OH. his seven grandchildren Dylan Emilia Hadley Ambrose,  Reese Ryleigh Noah Gallant and Gabriel Gallant. His siblings Kevin Gallant and his wife Jean of Burlington, MA Kerri Grenier and her husband Joe of Beverly, MA. His sister Jeanne of New Zeland.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours from 4 Pm to 7 Pm on Tuesday, February 27, at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington, Ma 01803. His funeral service will begin at 9:00 Am on Wednesday, February 28 at the funeral home with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 Am at St. Veronica’s Parish at St. Margret’s Church 111, Winn St. Burlington.
