Jeanne (Napolitano) Jones, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8. She was born to Filippo and Sarah Napolitano and was one of three children raised in Everett, where she grew up in a home rich with Sicilian traditions and values. A proud graduate of Everett High School, Jeanne later settled in Burlington with her then-husband James Jones and made the Crystal Circle neighborhood her adored home for much of her life. She worked at Mitre Corporation in Burlington for many years before transitioning to an administrative assistant role at the Burlington Police Department, where she continued to serve the community until her retirement.
Jeanne’s greatest love was her family and friends. As a single mother, she dedicated herself to her son, putting his needs above her own. She was a nurturing and loving mother, a steadfast provider, and always did whatever was necessary to care for her family. Her selflessness and determination were evident when she worked multiple jobs to ensure her son could attend a private school. Her devotion to him extended to her grandsons, whom she cherished with all her heart. Jeanne was always there for them—whether hosting gatherings at her home or cheering them on in their hobbies and activities, she was their biggest fan, always celebrating their triumphs. She was the heart of her family and community—the thoughtful rock who helped keep everyone connected, always supportive, ever-present, and overflowing with care. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she was always ready to help in any way possible. Giving was the cornerstone of her life, and she embraced others as family—not by blood, but by love.
Jeanne’s love of life extended far beyond her family. She was a vibrant, active woman who loved to travel, befriend new people, and develop the community at Crystal Circle. Some of her most treasured memories were made while traveling with friends and family, but the highlight was her trip to her homeland Italy with her only son and his two sons. Late in her life, she was thrilled to be involved in the next chapter of community development, actively participating in the Burlington Council on Aging, where she enjoyed connecting with others through activities and social events. It was a fulfilling experience for her, as she embraced this new phase with the same enthusiasm she had for her earlier community-building in the Crystal Circle neighborhood.
Jeanne’s radiant smile, genuine kindness, and uplifting spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her generosity, selflessness, and loving nature made her an irreplaceable presence in the lives of those around her. She had a sharp wit—her whispered remarks, though sometimes biting, were often profoundly insightful and undeniably true. Though she is no longer with us, Jeanne will always be lovingly remembered, and her devilishly keen humor will continue to bring smiles to those whose lives she touched.
Jeanne was the loving mother of Allan Jones, and very proud grandmother of Michael Jones, Trevor Jones, Ryan Jones, and Seth Jones. She was the sister of the late Carmella Dardeno and late Salvatore Napolitano, and lovingly connected to Carmella’s late husband Nicholas. She was the proud aunt of Philip Dardeno; Linda Gerardi; and the late Nicholas Dardeno III. She was also lovingly connected to Philip’s wife, Kathy, of Reading; Linda’s partner, Jeff Fisher, of Burlington; and Nicholas’s surviving wife, Beverly Dardeno, of Groveland. She was the adoring great-aunt of Nicholas Dardeno IV; Diane Dardeno; Philip Dardeno; Sarah Dardeno; Joseph Dardeno; Michelle Dardeno; Alysse Gerardi; Sarina Gerardi; Liana Gerardi; and Felicia Gerardi. She was also lovingly connected to Diane’s partner, Ken Yates; Philip’s partner, Nathan Velluto; Michelle’s fiancée, Scott Savoy; Sarina’s partner, Ivan Bacai; and Joseph’s wife, Danielle, of Peabody. She was the devoted great-great-aunt of Jonathan Marks, Jessica Marks, Justin Dardeno, Malia Dardeno, Joey Dardeno, Antonio Dardeno, and Lorenzo Dardeno. She was the cherished cousin of Jean Marino, and very dear friend of many others - some of whom considered her part of their own family.
