Obituary of John A Centorino

John A. Centorino, of Burlington, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of Annette (DiPerna) Centorino, with whom he had shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Boston, MA John was the son of the late James and Mary Centorino.  John was the dear brother of the late James and Richard. John attended Watertown High School and then went on to study at a technical school. He later worked in a material processing lab at MIT for many years until his retirement.

John met his loving wife Annette when they were young at a cousin’s wedding.  It wasn’t long until they were married and settled down in Burlington, where they started their family together. Along with his devoted wife Annette, John is survived by his children, Michael and Karen and her husband Heath, and four loving grandchildren, Alyssa, Hailey, Tristan, and Chiara.

In their free time, John and Annette loved to travel any chance they got.  They enjoyed going all over New England, including Rockport Beach with their grandchildren. John was also fond of visiting the zoo and amusement parks with the grandchildren. They also enjoyed traveling out West to Arizona, Las Vegas, and California visiting family.  When John wasn’t traveling, he could be found in his yard working on the landscaping or in his hearty vegetable garden.  He also enjoyed working on cars and attending antique car shows. John was also an avid Boston sports fan. He spent time following his favorite teams with his neighbors and friends. The most important thing in John’s life though was definitely his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren.  Time with “Papa” was always something to look forward to, and John enjoyed making lasting memories with them all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for John to be held on Saturday, March 1st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St in Burlington.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the National Spinal Foundation.
