Obituary of Laura R. Murray
Laura R. Murray, A devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and kindness.
Laura was born in Malden on August 20, 1961, the daughter of the late Bradford and Doris (Shepard) Ogren, Laura was educated in the Burlington school system and graduated from Burlington High School. After high school, she met Thomas Murray at the age of 19 and formed a family. Laura and Tom were able to settle in Burlington and raise their children there. After many years of living in Burlington, the couple moved onto greater adventures in the lakes region of New Hampshire.
Laura enjoyed riding their motorcycles with her husband and close friends as part of the Cosmic Cadets. She especially loved their trips to Bike Week, where she could embrace the freedom and camaraderie of the biker community.
A lifelong animal lover, Laura had a special bond with her beloved dog Tyson and all the dogs that came before him. She had a kind heart, and a gentle spirit that animals were drawn to. She also found joy in camping trips with her family, especially in the beautiful landscapes of New Hampshire and the White Mountains, where they made countless cherished memories.
She took great pride in being involved in her daughter’s school lives, serving as a classroom mother, assisting teachers and chaperoning field trips. Later, as her children grew, she took on a new role as an administrative assistant at TecoMet, where she brought dedication and warmth to her work.
Above all else, Laura was happiest and most at ease around her loving family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Murray III of Merideth, NH., her adoring daughters, Danielle McCarthy and her husband Devin of West Suffield, CT and Jessica Nearhos and her husband Nicholas of Tewksbury, MA, two grandchildren Allison and Thomas McCarthy, her siblings, Brad Ogren Jr of Burlington and Derek Ogren and his wife Tammy of Billerica, her in laws Maureen Wall and her husband Ed of Woburn, Ted Murray and his wife Stacy of Naples, FL as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Laura was also the beloved sister-in-law of the late Mark and Susan Murray of Rumney, NH.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Tuesday, March 4 th from 4pm to 7pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. Her funeral service will begin on Wednesday, March 5, at 9am from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 280 Main St., Woburn. Burial will follow in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
