Ricky Brown, a man that always went out of his way to help others, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Saturday evening, March 1, 2025.  Ricky would have celebrated his 65th birthday on March 29.

At the age of five, Ricky came into the home and the family of Joe and Winnie Brown through foster care. He had a wonderful life with the Brown family and at the age of 15 he asked Joe and Winnie to officially adopt him, which they did.  The entire Brown clan enjoyed spending summer vacations at Ayers Lake Campground in Barrington, New Hampshire.  Ricky worked as a driver for Dunkin Donuts and worked for the Daily Times before retiring.  In recent years, Ricky moved to Woburn where he lived with his brother, Robert.

Ricky volunteered at the Burlington Food Pantry, the Burlington Recreation Department, and the Knights of Columbus.  He, along with other members of his family, participated in the Special Olympics Softball Program.  Ricky and his family were very involved in the Citations Drum and Bugle Corp for many years.

Ricky will be remembered for his outgoing personality and always wanting to help others. Ricky was the son of the late Joseph and Winifred Brown.  He was the brother of Robert Gay of Woburn, Robert Brown of Wakefield and the late George Brown and Lydia Brown.  He was the beloved uncle of Jillian Brown of Woburn and brother-in-law of Diana Brown and her partner Peter Dwyer. Ricky is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
