Obituary of Margaret Smith

Margaret "Peggy" Smith passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2025. She was 62 years old.

Ms. Smith was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, the daughter of Mary and the late James Smith. Although faced with daily health challenges from an early age, Margaret's kind spirit was displayed with her cooperative and pleasant attitude.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She liked listening to music, especially Irish music, and group activities such as going to the beach, bowling, mall trips, and arts and crafts. She took delight in looking her best every day and dressing up for special occasions, such as her 50th birthday celebration in 2012, where family and friends gathered for an elegant princess-themed party at her home in Arlington.

Margaret was the beloved daughter of Mary Smith and the late James Smith. She was the sister of James Smith of Hampton, NH, Mary Emmett and husband Chris of Oak Harbor, WA, Theresa Nardone of Turner, ME, and Sheila Young and husband Reid of Burlington, MA. She was the aunt of Ryan, Megan, and Shayla Emmett, Travis and Nathan Nardone, and Olivia, Brady, and Cameron Young.

Margaret's wonderful Arlington group home staff members and fellow residents are especially appreciated for the family atmosphere and loving care she enjoyed there.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, www.stveronicama.org, 111 Winn Street, Burlington, MA.  Services will conclude with an interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, in Burlington.
