Condolences to the whole Keohane family. What an incredible man Coach Keohane was. I was a Twin and later had the opportunity to play with Joe Jr. at ULowell. He impacted so many lives in a quiet and humble way. He taught me how to compete. He showed us all what a great family looks like. I had a bad game one day and was very upset. My father and I were leaving the ballpark and he came over to us and told my father to go get me a root beer! I have never ever forgotten that line. He had a way. Forever grateful for the impact he has had in my life both on and off the field. I’m sure they got a diamond up there in heaven!

I’ve spent over fifty years in youth sports….I never met a better teacher than Joe. In the ten years we spent in opposite dugouts, I might have won once or twice. Great man, huge loss. RIP Joe. Bill Seaward - BBA Major Cubs.

Dear Keohane Family,
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Keohane. He was one of the most important youth hockey coaches in Burlington history. I had the pleasure of playing for him back in the early 80s and he had a lot to do with my love for the game of hockey. He was a great coach and a real standup guy. Sending prayers to you all. Sincerely, -Jim Looney

To the entire Keohane Clan;
I got to know Mr. Keohane, it was always Mr. Keohane, when we moved to Burlington in the early 1970"s, through his oldest child Joe. We came to Burlington to late to be coached by him on his various teams but heard he was the guy you wanted to play for if you lucky enough to do so. What I do remember from my time on Lantern Lane was that when he was walking home from work or just out for leisure and you happened to be outside as well, he would always stop and ask how you were doing with school, work etc.. Even a couple years ago, when I last saw him, he called me over and said "Hey Kel I heard you live in Norwood. You know my Grandson and his family live there as well and they really like it.". Then he asked how my family was doing.
A real gentlemen, thoughtful and considerate. A life well lived, he will be missed.
My condolences to the the entire Keohane family from a past Lantern Laner. Rest well.

Mr Keohane was a great man, all the time he gave to so many. I had the honor to have him a an All Star Manager and his calming influence was exactly what we needed to win. Many years later that calming presence was there when my Mom and Dad passed away, he was there at Sullivan Funeral home to greet us with his warm smile. I will never forget that, thank you Mr Keohane, rest in peace

It was a privilege to have shared an afternoon with Joe and his extended family 2 years ago while he was recognized by the Worcester Red Sox. One need to do no more than look around that day. And you clearly realize the special life and special Man Joe had been throughout the years.
We wish Joe, Beth, all the children, grandchildren, & extended family our heartfelt condolences.
