Elaine Lee (Snyder) Cassaro, longtime resident of Burlington, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1st. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bella Snyder. She made Burlington her home in the 1960s, quickly becoming an integral part of the town, she would call home for the rest of her life.

Elaine was a sharp, dedicated professional who found success as an accountant, owning and operating her own office in Stoneham, MA. Her business savvy was matched by her warm personality, which made both colleagues and clients feel truly cared for.

Outside of work, Elaine knew how to enjoy life. She loved bowling, playing cards, and gathering for bingo with friends. She also had a true talent and passion for knitting, creating the most beautiful handmade gifts that she generously shared with friends and loved ones. Each piece reflected her thoughtfulness, warmth, and creativity, treasures that will be cherished for years to come.

Her home was a welcoming place for neighbors and dear friends, where meals, laughter, and thoughtful conversation were shared often. She had a deep appreciation for those around her and made it a point to let people know how much they meant to her. Her sense of humor and kindness were the cornerstones of many enduring friendships.

A lifelong animal lover, Elaine was especially devoted to her dogs and was a loving “mother” to many over the years. Her compassion and gentle nature extended far beyond the human world, making her a nurturing and dependable presence in many lives.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her wide circle of friends and neighbors, who will remember her for her big heart, sharp wit, creative spirit, and unwavering friendship.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 8th at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s memory to a local animal shelter of your choice.
