Judith E. (Robinson) Lavin, 97, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on August 18, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Judith was the beloved wife of the late Howard D. Lavin.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Brown) Robinson.
Judith and Howard were married in 1949. Three children and three states later, in 1961, they found themselves in Burlington MA where Howard worked at Raytheon and Judith cared for their children. She returned to part time work as they grew older and spent many years working at Ledgemont Lab.
They shared a wonderful life of marriage for 49 years. Their journeys took them to Australia, California, Florida, Canada, Alaska and, most often, the beloved beaches of New Jersey. They traveled to Pennsylvania to visit family often as well. These travels created cherished memories that Judith carried with her always.
After Howard’s passing, Judith continued to live with remarkable independence. She was very active at the senior center and volunteered for over 20 years in the kitchen there. She also volunteered at Winchester Hospital Lifeline.
She was very family-oriented, and most family gatherings were in her home. She found her greatest joy in her role as a grandmother, where her love left an indelible mark on the lives of her grandchildren. She was delighted as her great grandchildren began arriving.
In addition to her late husband, Judith is survived by her loving children, Jennifer Lavin Howard (the late Michael) of Kissimmee, FL, Cynthia Harrington (the late Kenneth) of Burlington, MA, and Robert Lavin of Kissimmee, FL, She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At her request all funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to an animal charity of your choice.
Arrangements are by the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St, Burlington. Condolences to her family may be made at www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
