Obituary of Stephen Minghella
Stephen J. Minghella, a Vice President at Munich Reinsurance America, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, September 7, 2013. He was 54 years old.
Steve was born and raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School and University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He began his working career as an insurance underwriter and had been with Munich Reinsurance for over 20 years, rising to the position of Vice President of Underwriting. Steve was well respected by his colleagues and many clients over the years. Steve’s life was all about his family. He always placed his wife and sons first. He coached his sons’ Pop Warner Football teams and Little League Baseball teams. As a coach, he enjoyed sharing his knowledge, experiences, and passion for sports. Steve was a supportive father, encouraging and mentoring his sons in all their sports, activities, and life choices. He had just celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife, Sue. Steve’s family will remember him for his abundant love, humility, and crisp wit.
Steve was the loving husband of Susan (Thomasian) Minghella and the proud father of Eric and Brian Minghella. He was the loving son of Marianne Minghella of Woburn, formerly of Stoneham, and the late Ernest Minghella. He was the brother of Lynne Querzoli & her husband Steve of North Andover and Thomas Minghella & his wife Nancy of Burlington.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 3-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorials in Steve’s name may be made to The Jimmy Fund – Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
