Bruce Lumsden Forbes, beloved husband of Bette G. Forbes of Old Saybrook, CT passed away at the age of 88 on September 9.  Bruce was predeceased by his parents James S. and Lois Forbes and his son Bruce J. Forbes. He leaves his daughter, Victoria G. Ford and grandchildren William P. Ford, Kevin J. Ford, Thomas G. Ford, Andrew C. Forbes, and Marley B. Forbes.

Bruce graduated from Lafayette College in 1959 then pursued a career in insurance industry for 40 years.  He retired from Middlesex Mutual Insurance as Vice President of Marketing.  Bruce was an avid sports fan and an athlete himself.  He coached Old Saybrook High School Soccer for 8 years and led them to three State Championships.  He was also active in his church and other community organizations. 

Bruce was a kind gentleman and a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Funeral services will be private.  Memorials in Bruce’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/ct, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
