This has taken a bit to digest! Susie one who never said a bad word of anyone. Loved her from day one. She and I had to go into Boston to complete our ACLS before we started at Children’s she knew every EKG, what it was showing and what medication needed to be administered! Even the new doctors got it wrong! Not Susie, she was comfortable in her confidence and got everything correct !
I will miss her as a friend, a true professional, and a wonderful person! Never to be forgotten!

It makes me think of people who come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and then there are those rare souls who fill our hearts with sweetness, warmth, and the smell of freshly baked cake. My dear friend Susie was one of those people.
Every time she baked a cake for work or sometime dedicated it to me, it wasn’t just about the flour, sugar, or rum. It was her way of saying, “I see you. I care for you. It was a hug in the form of dessert a slice of kindness served on a plate. Whether it was for just a treat, a tough day, or for no reason at all, her cakes came with laughter, stories, and comfort I didn’t know I needed.
It’s strange now, missing not just her, but the little rituals we shared, the anticipation of the first bite, the way they’d light up when I went back for seconds, the joy she found in giving. That was her gift baking, yes but mostly giving and she gave so much of herself to everyone around her.
Susie taught me that love doesn’t always need grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s in the way someone remembers your favorite flavor, or how they stay up late making sure the taste is just right. She showed love in the most delicious ways and in doing so, she made the world a little sweeter.
Though she is no longer here to share a slice with us I carry her spirit with me. In every bite of cake, in every memory of her laughter, in every quiet moment when I miss her, there she is.
Rest well, my friend. Your kindness was the icing and the rum on all our cake.

I am so devastated to hear of Susie's passing. I hadn't seen Carl lately so I did not know of Susie's illness. While I've seen Carl many times, I only had the pleasure of meeting Susie in person with Carl once at a motorcycle show my shop was participating in. And also once on the phone as Carl had called her to verify something for me. A striking, attractive woman, and a nurse! She covered all the bases for you Carl, so you chose a keeper.
A very hard working wife to compliment her very hard working husband. A perfect union.
