Robert Anthony Dupuis Obituary

Robert (Bob) Anthony Dupuis, 64, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Portland, Maine, Bob was the son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Hashey) Dupuis. He grew up in Standish and was educated in the local school system, graduating from Bonny Eagle High School.

Over the years, Bob built a life marked by hard work, passion, and dedication to his family, friends, and interests. He had a knack for security and was employed as a security officer for Brinks, Maine General Medical Center, and First Protection Services.  He also pursued entrepreneurial ventures. For more than 15 years, he owned and operated a fitness center in Winthrop, Maine, a business that reflected his lifelong dedication to physical fitness and martial arts.  He was especially appreciated by the elderly patrons of the local fitness center.

A 6th Degree Black Belt in karate, Bob was a true leader and instructor of the Tao Karate Club in Central Maine, where he taught and inspired countless students for decades and helped many earn their black belts. His enthusiasm for martial arts led him to compete in numerous tournaments throughout New England, participating in the SMART and IPPONE karate travel circuits.  Bob also hosted his own karate tournament for many years, the Maine Martial Arts Challenge. One of his greatest joys was sharing that passion for karate with his son, Brandon.

Bob’s love for his friends and family was boundless. Known for his humor, charisma, and warmth, he had a knack for brightening a room with a never-ending list of dad jokes.  He was also well known for his stubbornness.

He is survived by his beloved children, Amanda Frank, Brandon Dupuis, and Samantha Dupuis; his grandchildren, Trey Frank and Gabe Frank; and his remaining siblings, Joe Dupuis, Terry Voter, Craig McKenzie, and Wendy McKenzie, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date to be determined in Central Maine. Condolences to his family may be made at www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
