Carol Cleaves, currently from Arlington, MA, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025. Carol was born in 1945 in Somerville, MA. Carol lived for many years in Burlington, MA. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy A. Cleaves and Harold B. Cleaves, and the sister of the late Edna Modica and her husband Anthony Modica. Carol worked as an Executive Secretary at Honeywell Corporation for several years. She also worked for a while at the Penthouse Suite, Holiday Inn, Government Center in Boston. While working there she won the Ms. Zebra popularity contest. Carol enjoyed gardening and always planted various flowers in her yard and was always proud to show them off. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed each and every ornament and placed them on her tree with great thought and care. Her window box was also beautifully decorated. Carol loved and enjoyed all of her great nieces and nephews and showered them with beautiful and thoughtful birthday and Christmas presents.

She enjoyed taking her great niece and great nephew to "Breakfast with Santa", and made sure he came over to their table to say hi. She is survived by her niece Linda Black and her husband Phil, of Chelmsford, MA, by Lori Calicchio and her husband Joseph of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and by Harold Modica and his wife Linda of Rindge, NH. Also, by her great nieces and nephews: Erika Creutz, Kristen Calicchio, Kelly Calicchio, Adam Black, Eric Modica, Steve Modica and Joseph Calicchio, and 7 great, great nieces and nephews and her cousin Loretta Camire of Belmont, NH. She also leaves behind her devoted friend of many years, Joyce Jones and her husband John Messina.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Monday, December 1, from 10am to 11:30 am at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
