Astride Senatus Obituary

Astride Senatus, 44, a devoted sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born in Boston, Astride was the beloved daughter of the late Jean Andre Senatus and Marie Solange (Jean) Senatus. She received her early education at Arlington Catholic High School and later attended the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she was a pre-med major with the aspiration of becoming a physician. Her commitment to learning and her desire to serve others were defining aspects of her character and remained evident throughout her life.

Astride’s love for science, nature, and animals was reflected in the deep bonds she formed with her pets, including her late dog, Rex, and her cherished Russell Terrier, Teddy. To know Astride was to know Teddy, who was rarely far from her side, whether taking him to the dog park, on long car rides, or on shopping trips to Target.

Creativity was central to Astride’s identity. She expressed herself through writing fictional stories and poetry, as well as through drawing and painting. Her appreciation for the arts was expansive and sincere. She found joy in attending musicals, exploring galleries and museums, and thoughtfully engaging with works of art, always open to inspiration and reflection.

An avid traveler, Astride embraced opportunities to experience diverse cultures and places with friends and family. Among her favorite destinations were Thailand, Kenya, South Africa, France, and London. She especially treasured her annual trips to Mexico with her sister, journeys that became a cherished tradition and a source of enduring memories.

Guided by strong Catholic values, Astride had a natural gift for working with children and caring for others. She was a devoted advocate for her brother, Junior, assisting him with his communication skills, accompanying him to doctor visits, and tirelessly supporting his needs and developmental growth. Through her unwavering advocacy, encouragement, and love, Junior was able share in many of life’s simple joys with Astride, basketball, movies, and good food. Her impact on his life, and on all who knew her, is immeasurable.

She is survived by her loving sister, Chedly Senatus and her husband Marc L. Blemur of Woburn, a brother, Jean Andre Senatus Jr. “Junior”, a nephew Kevin Berrouet, and two nieces, Monique F. Blemur and Rebeca J. Blemur.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Astride’s funeral service on Saturday, January 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the International Church of God Worship Center, located at 24 Ray Avenue, Burlington, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
