Brendan J. Reynolds Obituary

Brendan J. Reynolds, age 42, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Burlington on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Born in Winchester, MA on May 11, 1983, he was a beloved son of Mary (Donnellan) Reynolds and the late James Reynolds.  He grew up surrounded by siblings and friends who would come to know him as a kind, thoughtful, and deeply genuine person.  Brendan graduated from Burlington High School, and went on to take several college courses over the years.

In his younger years, he worked at Circuit City, which was a job he truly enjoyed.  His favorite role, however, was at Giles Liquor Store, where he worked for many years and earned the affectionate nickname “the Mayor of East Arlington.”  Brendan had a natural way of connecting with people, and through his work he formed many lifelong friendships and meaningful connections within the community.

Though Brendan did not have children of his own, he was the true embodiment of the “fun uncle” — a loving, caring, and humorous presence to his family and friends.  He was an excellent listener, was easy to talk to, and someone people trusted with their worries and joys alike.  Brendan worked hard to offer advice and understanding without judgment.  He also never forgot birthdays or important milestones, always making sure to reach out and let others know how much they mattered to him.

In his free time, Brendan was an avid history buff, especially documentaries about the Civil War, the Wild West, and Gettysburg.  He loved classic television as well, with The Golden Girls being his all-time favorite, along with sitcoms like Cheers and Seinfeld.  Brendan was often referred to as “Norm” from Cheers and even had a regular seat at his favorite local spot, Pizza Mia, where he often got together with friends.  He was also a devoted New England sports fan, particularly the Red Sox and Patriots, and enjoyed catching games with friends whenever he could.  Brendan will be remembered for his warmth, humor, loyalty, and the quiet way he made everyone around him feel heard and valued.

Along with his loving mother, “Ma” aka “the Mother” aka “Mema”(Mary), Brendan is survived by his adoring siblings, Daniel Reynolds and his wife Renee of Melbourne, FL, Lyn Reynolds of N. Billerica, and David Reynolds and his wife Paula of Gilroy, CA; his cherished nephew and nieces, Sam, Isabelle, Abigail, and Bridget, as well as many other dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.

Brendan was the devoted brother of the late James Reynolds and Brian Reynolds.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, January 16th from 12 pm until 2 pm.  At the request of the family, burial will be held at a later date.
