Tanya Marie Condon-Frieden Obituary
Tanya Marie Condon-Frieden, a woman whose radiant smile could brighten anyone’s day, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2026. She was 55 years old.
Tanya was a lifelong resident of Burlington. She was born in Woburn and was one of six children born to John and Marylou Condon. She enjoyed a wonderful upbringing in a home filled with children, activity, laughter, and fun. Tanya formed a close circle of friends early in life, many of whom remained dear to her throughout the years.
She was a proud graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1988. Tanya continued her education at Fitchburg State before earning her degree in early childhood education from Salem State University. Always open to adventure, she accepted a temporary teaching position in Ilkley, England—an experience that reflected her curiosity and love for new experiences.
Before starting her family, Tanya worked as the general manager of Corporate Sports Marketing. She later chose to step away from her career to focus on raising her three children and creating a loving, nurturing home for them. When she returned to the workforce, she worked part time for a period and then spent 10 years as an executive assistant to a vice president at Comcast.
Tanya radiated joy and carried a special aura that made everyone around her feel loved, seen, and appreciated. She was truly a beam of sunshine. Smart and thoughtful, she always had a wonderful goofy sense of humor and was the undisputed queen of corny jokes. Simply being in her presence made life feel lighter and brighter.
Tanya embraced life fully. She loved being outdoors, whether walking around Lake Quannapowitt or spending time at the beaches of Salisbury. She had a special fondness for Christmas movies—especially Elf. She enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, and watching movies. One of her unique talents was her skill at playing pool. She learned as a child at her grandfather’s house and continued playing throughout her life. While she was never a pool hustler, she certainly made her presence known in any pool room.
Family vacations were especially meaningful to Tanya. When her children were young, those trips often meant camping adventures. As the years went on, vacations included Salisbury, North Conway, Lake Winnipesaukee, Sebago Lake, Clearwater, Florida, Punta Cana, and Mexico. Tanya’s goal was always for everyone to have fun. Lake vacations, in particular, were filled with boating, tubing for the kids, cookouts, and evening campfires where stories were shared and her favorite songs—“Soulshine,” “Walking in Memphis,” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”—played in the background.
Above all else, Tanya was devoted to her family. She always strived to be the best mother she could be and was incredibly proud of each of her children and the strong young adults they have become. She showed her love through home-cooked meals, happily preparing their favorite dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Alfredo, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and anything else they requested.
Tanya was a loving daughter, a devoted sister, and a treasured friend to so many. Her passing at such a young age is truly heartbreaking. Yet she leaves behind a legacy of love and countless beautiful memories that will be carried in the hearts of those she touched for years to come. And as time softens the sorrow, may Tanya’s memory once again bring smiles to all who knew and loved her. She was, in every sense, a truly special woman.
Tanya was the beloved and caring mother of Jack Frieden of Revere, Kailey Frieden of Burlington and Cole Frieden of Burlington. She was the loving daughter of Marylou (Petersen) Condon of Leominster and the late John Condon. She was the sister of Donna DiBenedetto & her husband David of Leominster, Darlene Tierney & her husband Robert of Burlington, Lisa Scola & her fiancée Bill Gallego of Chelmsford, John Condon & his wife Krista of Burlington, and Renee Condon-Poitras of Leominster. She was the loving companion of Don Lee of Arlington. She was the former wife of Jaron Frieden of Burlington. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
