Marie Carme Florestal Dalceus, age 65, passed away at Lahey Hospital on Monday, January 19, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Lessor Florestal, with whom she had shared many wonderful years of marriage. 

Born in Des Dunes, Haiti on November 27, 1960, she was one of nine children to the late Vertu Dalceus and Francilia Geffrard. Marie was the first daughter in her family, and was always an attentive and loving sister to all her siblings. She was raised in a religious home, and would often be found carrying a bible and singing hymns in her free time. 

To her core, Marie was a devoted and loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She worked tirelessly to support her three boys in Haiti, and eventually moved herself and them all here to America in 2012. Even after arriving in the states, Marie made a constant effort to send money back to her family in Haiti.  She also kept in touch with her beloved siblings and family over there as well.  

Marie’s faith remained a constant her entire life, and when she arrived here in 2012, she joined the Missionary Church of the Haitian Community in New Jersey.  She quickly became an active member of the parish, and was beloved by so many.  Much like how she was with her family, she was a supportive and loving friend who offered great advice and comfort to any church member who may need her.  To all who were lucky enough to know her, Marie was truly a gift.  She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and ability to make others feel seen and loved when they needed it most. 

Along with her dear husband, Marie is survived by her three sons, Lesly Florestal and his wife Natasha of Lexington, Welvens Florestal and his wife Ferline of NJ, and Schneider Florestal and his wife Norline of Everett; her cherished grandchildren, Samuel, Rachel, Deborah, Benjamin, Wisthamael, Jonathan, and Abraham Florestal, and Analeia Schney; her loving siblings, Verode Louverture, Mecene Louverture, Christina Modegeina, Hyrouance Dalce and his wife Murtha, Erite Dalce, Loulouse Dalce, and Frederick Dalce, as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Missionary Church of the Haitian Community, 100 Temple St., Somerville on Saturday, January 31st from 8:15 am until 9 am.  Her Funeral Service will be held from 9 am until 11 am.  Burial will immediately follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
